Ohanekwu Favor Ebuka has emerged as the overall best graduating student at Obafemi Awolowo University for the 2018/2019 academic session at the school’s 45th Convocation held on December 10, 2021.

Ohanekwu Favor Ebuka, a graduate of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Technology, received his first class degree with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.88 (out of 5.0) and got nine prizes.

Victor Onwuka & Onyinye Okafor Win CSN Secondary School Chemistry Competition 2021

Victor Onwuka and Onyinye Okafor have emerged overall winners of the 2021 Secondary School Chemistry Competition organised by the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN).

Acting Head Teacher, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) High School, Mrs. Atinuke Israel, disclosed that Victor Onwuka scored 92 percent in the male category, while Onyinye Okafor recorded 87 percent in the female category.

She attributed their performance to what she described as “intensive preparations by the school and divine backing”.

Two representatives each were drawn from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Dr. Felix Ajiola Wins 2021 Rahamon Bello Best Thesis Award

Dr. Felix Ajiola has emerged winner of the 2021 Rahamon Bello Best Thesis Award after being overall best among 23 others from universities in Nigeria and other African countries to win the prize.

The award was put together by the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies, University of Lagos, and Dr. Ajiola, whose Ph.D. thesis is entitled: “Cocoa Production and Rural Development in Idanre, South Western Nigeria (1900 to 1996)”, won the first prize which attracts a cash reward of $1000.

Esther Oluwabukola Gbeja Wins 2021 NCC National Essay Competition

Esther Oluwabukola Gbeja has emerged overall winner of the 2021 NCC National Essay Competition during the prize presentation ceremony held on November 23, 2021, at the Conference Room of the Commission’s Head Office in Abuja.

Over 2,000 entries were received from 97 public and private tertiary institutions for the competition in which Esther Oluwabukola Gbeja, a 600-Level student of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ilorin, was declared overall winner. Gbeja received a cash prize of 500,000.00, a laptop, and a printer; while the first runner-up, Moses Nosa Edosa, a final year student of Accounting at the University of Port Harcourt, received a cash prize of 300,000.00 only.

Two second runners-up emerged from the competition to pick the third prize. MarcPatrick Efevuriri Efeni, a 200-Level student of Cybersecurity at the Airforce Institute of Technology, Kaduna; and Nasiru Abdul Karim, a 400-Level student of Computer Engineering at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, both came third having scored same number of points. They both received cash prizes of 200,000 each.
