Ngwaogu Ifeoluwa Ugochi of the Abesan Senior High School, Ipaja, Lagos has emerged as the winner of the third South Africa Airways Essay competition (SAAEC 2022), which was held recently in Lagos.

Ngwaogu Ifeoluwa Ugochi receives a cash prize of ₦150,000, while Aladetohun Kamimayo Enoch of St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka and Oshimade Abisola Promise of Abiolu Comprehensive College, Igando, came second and third, respectively.

The duo also went home with cash prizes of ₦100,000 and ₦50,000 for their efforts.

Winners (federal, state and private universities) have emerged in the 2020 JAMB National Tertiary Admissions’ Performance-Merit Award (NATAP-M Award).

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) awarded ₦500 million in prizes to 13 tertiary institutions across the country.

The winners shared ₦100 million per each of the five categories of the awards.

The categories include the most preferred institution by candidates; the institution with the highest national diversity; the most improved institution in gender balance; and the institution with the highest number of international students.

Adebayo Eyimofe has emerged the overall best candidate in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as revealed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

This was disclosed during the 2022 policy meeting of the board held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Adebayo, who wrote his examination in Abuja emerged as the candidate with the highest score of 362 out of 400.

15-year-old Roqeed Abolaji Yekini of Ijegun Senior Comprehensive High School, Isolo, Lagos, and 13-year-old Miss Eneche Leila, of Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, have emerged as second and third place winners, respectively.

Anthonia Nkwogu has emerged winner of the second edition of the Felicia Agubata Science competition and scholarship for girls in primary schools.

The competition organised in honour of Dr. Felicia Agubata,​ the former president of the​ Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, for her passion for seeing STEM at the forefront of career opportunities in Nigeria, is designed to ignite the passion for STEM subjects among girls from the grassroots.

The competition, which tested participants in Mathematics, English Language, Quantitative Reasoning, Basic Science and Civic Education, was held at the Foluseke Abiodun Shomolu Club House, Auditorium, Egbin Power PLC Estate, Egbin, Ikorodu.
