Asubiojo Henry Olaoluwa, has emerged the best public secondary school teacher in Nigeria in the 2020 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Award.

Asubiojo Henry Olaoluwa is a teacher from Amoye Grammar School, Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Aliyu Alhasan from IPDI, Minna, and St. Joseph CRS school, Iboko Offot, Uyo, emerged first and second runners-up, respectively, in the 2020 public school teachers award.

Similarly, Istifanus Caroline, a teacher from ECWA. L. Crawford, Kaltungo, Gombe state, emerged the best private junior school teacher.

Abosede Oyinlola Samson Wins 2020 Osun State Independence Day Essay Competition

Abosede Oyinlola Samson has emerged winner of the 2020 Osun State Independence Day essay competition organized by the Osun State government.

Abosede Oyinlola Samson, a 23-year-old and final year student of Chemical Engineering Department, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) was declared the winner of the competition on October 1, 2020 as Osun State celebrates Nigeria’s 60th anniversary.

Abosede Oyinlola Samson emerged winner amongst 756 other students who registered for the essay competition organized by the Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties (MRISD).

On behalf of the State Government of Osun, Abosede Oyinlola Samson was awarded a cash prize of 250,000, a laptop computer worth of 700,000, Airtel 100Gb Router  and documents of ownership to a plot of land.

Winners Of REEL Foundation 2020 Young Writers Challenge

Winners have emerged at the REEL Foundation maiden edition of the ‘Young Writers Challenge’ (YWC) in Lagos.

The Young Writers Challenge is a story writing competition, which was designed to provide an avenue for children aged 7-13 years across Nigeria to be resourcefully engaged outside the physical school environment with the goal to ignite imagination, ingenuity, promote, reward diligence and excellence.

It was on this backdrop that contestants were asked to write a story on how the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has impacted their life or people around them and what has been learned from the experience of staying at home.

Winners Of 2020 NCDMB Nigerian Oil And Gas Technology (NOGTECH) Hackathon

Five teams have been selected as the winners of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Technology (NOGTECH) Hackathon sponsored by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

The teams are Fuel Intellisense, Homefort Energy, Gricd Mote, Kiakia Gas and Airsynq and their projects were picked as the most innovative and bankable by judges after the 15 semifinalists made presentations on their innovations.

The three-day NOGTECH Hackathon had teams with detailed engagement with industry experts, mentors and entrepreneurs.

Professor Florence Obi of the Faculty of Education is to succeed Professor Zana Akpagu, whose tenure would elapse on November 30 [2020].

The choice of Professor Florence Obi was announced on the 11th of September 2020 by the 12th Governing Council of the university as the 11th Vice Chancellor-elect at the UNICAL Hotel in Calabar after emerging winner out of 13 contestants.
