Defence Industries Corporation Of Nigeria (DICON) Unveils ‘Ezugwu’

The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) unveils locally produced mine resistant ambush protected vehicles named ‘Ezugwu’ and other armored vehicles designed to carry out insertion and extraction of troops, assault, counter-terrorism, delivery of high fire power and urban warfare.

The vehicles and equipment were unveiled during the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference, which held in Kaduna on the 3rd of December 2019.

Jerry Mallo Unveils First Made In Nigeria Carbon Fiber Sports Car

Jerry Mallo, a fabrication engineer and chief executive officer of Bennie Technologies Limited has unveiled the first made in Nigeria carbon fiber sports car.

The carbon fiber car named “Bennie Purrie” was exhibited on the 28th of November 2019 at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Jerry Mallo said he was inspired to create the sports car because Nigeria and Africa at large have all the required resources and raw materials needed.

Mercy Bankole and Funmilola Fagbola have been awarded the 2019 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science Program Young Talents Sub-Saharan Africa Awards.

The Nigerian female scientists (Mercy Bankole and Funmilola Fagbola) were awarded alongside 18 other female African researchers.

The award is sponsored jointly by L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO For Women in Science programme.

Winners Emerge At 2019 AppsAfrica Innovation Awards

Winners have emerged at the 2019 AppsAfrica innovation awards held in Cape Town, South Africa.

The AppsAfrica innovation awards attracts attention from innovators across the continent each year, with organizers getting over 400 applications from 52 countries.

This year’s awards mark the 5th by AppsAfrica honoring mobile and tech innovators in Africa. Of the 70 selected finalist, 14 products emerged winners this year from four African countries; Nigeria, Angola, Kenya and South Africa.

Team Nigeria Emerge Winner At 2019 Atoms For Africa Youth Video Competition

Youths from Nigeria, Tanzania and Kenya have been awarded first prize in the 2019 Atoms for Africa Youth Video Competition.

According to the statement from ROSATOM Central and Southern Africa, the winners received the highest number of votes from the jury and the general public via Facebook platform.

The competition was themed: “5th Atoms Empowering Africa”.

The first team of winners from Nigeria include: Egbe Joy, Derick Nwasor and Oghale Yome. The second winners from Tanzania comprised: Edgar John, Ritha Deusdedit and Theresia Mbuli and the third winners from Kenya are Wafula, Lukorito,Job Ogenche and Felix Kipng’etich.
