Chad Molokwu Wins 2026 Young Master Challenge London Finals

Chad Molokwu of The Regent Secondary School, Abuja, has emerged the overall winner in his age category at the 2026 Young Master Challenge London Finals.

Nigeria also secured victory in the prestigious Teams Challenge, where Nathan Udoesu, Oladayo Adeyemo of Standard Bearers School, and Nathan Sotunde of Great Bloomers School combined their skills to clinch the global title.

The team’s performance showcased strong collaboration, problem-solving ability and academic excellence on the international stage.

Several other Nigerian students also ranked among the Top 30 globally in their respective categories. They include:

  • Oladele Hans – Bloombreed Schools
  • Ugochukwu Chisom – Greensprings School, Anthony Campus
  • Tirenoluwa Akeredolu – Greensprings School, Anthony Campus
  • Oluwatobiloba – Corona Day Secondary School, Lekki
  • Naomi – Greensprings School, Ikoyi Campus
  • Edem – Corona Secondary School, Agbara

Reacting to the results, the Regional Director of the Elizalde Mathematics Competition (EMC) Nigeria, Zack Elias, described the performance as a significant achievement for the country.

He said the students’ success demonstrated the potential of Nigerian learners and reflected the commitment of schools, parents and teachers towards academic excellence.

Chad Molokwu’s emergence as the overall winner in his category, our Teams Challenge victory, and the outstanding performances of students who ranked among the Top 30 globally are a testament to the dedication of the students, the commitment of their schools, and the unwavering support of parents and teachers.”

The International Partnerships Manager of Young Master Challenge, Emily Cowin, also congratulated the Nigerian finalists, noting their impressive participation at the global finals in London.

Cowin said about 100 talented students from Nigeria participated in the event through the Elizalde Mathematics Competition National Finalists programme.

She added that the finalists took part in academic activities, cultural experiences and educational excursions, including visits to Cambridge and King’s College.

She particularly congratulated Chad Molokwu for achieving the highest overall result in his age category, describing it as a reflection of his dedication and academic excellence.

The Young Master Challenge and Elizalde Mathematics Competition provide international platforms for students to develop mathematical reasoning, critical thinking and communication skills while connecting with peers from different countries.
