Na My Teacher Make Me Who I Be Today! By Ayodeji Tahir Olowolagba

Many dey talk say this life na jungle

And that if you dey reason am too much, your mind fit land you in troubles

Just like a bandit dem hold in chains

And like an untrained rider wey crashed and dey in pains

As aeroplane no fit fly without a pilot

And without teachers, the world for dey in chaos

Knowledge na light, knowledge na power

Without a teacher’s guide, person fit lost forever

My teacher na my role model wey shape up my personality

Na so e dey teach us lessons with good character and integrity

Moral values na the icing sugar on top the cake him dey serve

To be a good person like him, na so we all dey strive

Directionless, I for don be like a sailor wey no get compass

And like an unskilled labourer wey dey bid for contracts

But he makes my ambition smooth like fluid filling a keg through a funnel

Na so I jam green light at the end of the tunnel

I don waka go north, go south, go east, go west

Na those values dey always make me dey stand tall among the rest

All his efforts na debt someday I wish to repay

Cos na my teacher’s inspiration make me person wey I be today
