Union Systems Limited Launches ‘Optimus’ – The First Multibank International Trade Finance Portal In Nigeria

Union Systems Limited has announced the launch of its new product (Optimus), which is the first multibank international trade finance portal in Nigeria.

Optimus is a cloud-based application, which enables corporates to initiate, process, and manage all international trade transactions across their banks from a single portal.

It empowers corporates to have a consolidated view of all their trade transactions with different banks without having to visit the banking hall.

Corporates can collaborate and communicate with their teams, suppliers, bankers and other relevant stakeholders in the trade finance value-chain from anywhere in the world. It is available on both the web and mobile channels.

Optimus eliminates the hassle of corporates having to log in to many bank portals to initiate trade transactions with different banks as these transactions can now be made and monitored from a single Portal.

Okwubi Godwin Adah has emerged the overall winner of the Poets in Nigeria (PIN) 2020 Nigerian Students Poetry Prize announced at an award ceremony at Virgin Rose Resorts, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Okwubi Godwin Adah, a 400-level student of Anatomy, University of Benin, won the first prize with his poem titled ‘The House That Built Me’.

Obinna Ukwuani Appointed Chief Digital Officer Of Bank of Kigali, Rwanda

Bank of Kigali has appointed Obinna Ukwuani as Chief Digital Officer replacing Regis Rugemanshuro who was appointed to head Rwanda Social Security Board in February this year.

Thelma Ihenacho of Meadow Hall School has emerged global junior winner in the 2020 Wole Soyinka Essay Competition in the francophone and anglophone category.

Thelma Ihenacho receives a prize of $600.

The competition received more than 2,000 entries from more than 20 countries.

Tyrone Nkululeko Takawira from Zimbabwe of Ashesi University emerged global senior winner.

Other winners include: Toluwanimi Sonuga and Joseph Divine from Nigeria, Emily Suh from the USA, Shaoyuan Li from China, Vera Honham Anthonio from Ghana, Sampada Dahal from Nepal, and Pamphile Sassi Aubert from China/Nigeria.

The topic of the competition this year was “I AM because YOU ARE”, philosophy on the interdependence of the human family.
