The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings has ranked Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) as the Best University in Nigeria and one of the best 400 in the world.

On the rankings, Covenant University (CU) emerged second; University of Ibadan (UI) emerged third; University of Lagos (UNILAG) emerged fourth; Landmark University emerged fifth; Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike emerged sixth; Babcock University emerged seventh; Edo State University, Uzairue emerged eighth; and Lagos State University (LASU) emerged ninth.

Ifeoma Uddoh, a 2021 alumna of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs is the founder of Shecluded, a fintech start-up dedicated to bridging the financial inclusion gap among women of colour.

Winners Of Mobo Game Jam 2022

Winners have emerged in the second edition of Mobo Game Jam – a global game-making competition organised by Kucheza Gaming in partnership with edu360, Union Bank’s education platform.

The competition, which encourages young innovators (heroes) between the ages of 8-18, brought together participants from Nigeria and the United Kingdom (UK) to compete and develop video games or game prototypes that combine creativity, compassion, and computational thinking to defeat a villain causing a global problem, and by so doing raise awareness and provide possible solutions for that problem.

Victor Adetunji, a Senior Secondary 2 student of International School, Ibadan has emerged CLMCA Africa’s Maths Champion 2022 as he defeated over 10,000 participants across Africa to the title.

For the feat, Victor Adetunji earned $5,000 worth of university scholarship at the just-concluded Cruxlearning Mathematics Contest Africa.

Cosmos Abasi has emerged winner of the inaugural Nollywood Screen Writing Contest (NSWC) instituted by Lawrence Onuzulike to draw the attention of the public to the remarkable work of screenwriters in Nigeria.

Aforevo, a filmmaking company, organisers of Nollywood Screen Writing Contest, on May 6, 2022 rewarded the overall winner of the contest, Cosmos Abasi, with ₦1 million, while the 1st runner-up, Abundance Effiong got ₦500,000 and 2nd runner-up, Dolly Nwaduba received ₦300,000.

Aruna Quadri has risen to become one of the top 10 players in the world in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings.

The Nigerian rose two places in the latest ranking released on May 3, 2022 to place 10th best table tennis player in the world.

The ranking makes Aruna the first African, Nigerian or black table tennis player to break into the top echelon of the game.
