Mobihealth International Wins Sanofi AfricaTech Healthcare Challenges 2020

Mobihealth International has emerged one of the winners of the AfricaTech Healthcare Challenges 2020, organised by Sanofi biopharmaceutical in Paris, France.

The finals of the challenge were held online during the week with eleven (11) shortlisted startups pitching to the panel of experts, and five (5) winners were selected from the number.

Self-esteem or Self-worth is conventionally what we think, love, and believe about ourselves. Individuals could have high or low self-esteem. Low self-esteem is the lack of self-confidence, self-belief and trust. It is characterized by an individual’s fragility or inability to standup for himself or herself, take up challenges without fear and admit one’s weaknesses without shame or disgust.

As Nigerians, we are confronted with many personal and general challenges that affect our self-esteem. These factors affect our mentality and efficacy towards self-realization and progress. However, we are obliged to remember who we are, what we are made of and the country we represent.

Chigozie Obioma Wins 2020 Internationaler Literaturpreis Award For Foreign Fiction

Chigozie Obioma has won the 2020 Internationaler Literaturpreis award by Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of World Cultures) in Germany.

The Nigerian writer and author won the award through the German translation of his second novel, titled: An Orchestra of Minorities.

His co-winner is Haitian writer James Noel.

Simon Moses Voted FC Nantes Player Of The Year [2019/2020]

Simon Moses has been voted as the player of the year at his French Ligue 1 club – FC Nantes in the truncated 2019/2020 season.

In a statement by FC Nantes on May 27th 2020, Simon Moses scored the highest number of votes from the side’s fans. Simon got 40 percent of the votes cast by the 3,500 voters, according to the French team.

The 24-year-old winger joined FC Nantes from Levante in Spain last summer, the winger has played 30 matches and scored nine goals with eight assists.

Victor Osimhen Voted Lille Olympique Sporting Club Player Of The Year [2019/2020]

Victor Osimhen has been voted as the player of the year at his French club – Lille Olympique Sporting Club (LOSC) in the truncated 2019/2020 season.

In Osimhen’s emergence as Lille’s best player in what is just his maiden campaign in the French Ligue 1, he scored 18 goals and provided six (6) assists  in 38 appearances across all competitions before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak during the football season.

His 13 goals in the French Ligue 1 was the fourth highest in the division. The Nigeria international beat off competition from Benjamin Andre and Renato Sanches to clinch the individual accolade, according to a statement on the club website.

The award is the second he has won since teaming up with Christophe Galtier’s men, having also won the Ligue 1 Player of the Month for October in 2019.

Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Performs First All-Female Crew Intelligence, Surveillance And Reconnaissance (ISR) Mission

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted its first all-female crew intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) mission on 28 May 2020 using the NAF Beechcraft KingAir ISR aircraft.

The historic mission had Flying Officers Oluwabunmi Ijelu and Genevieve Nwaogwugwu as Captain and Co-Pilot, respectively, with Sergeant Njoku Patience as the Airborne Tactical Observation System (ATOS) mission operator and Lance Corporal Shawulu Godiya as the on-board technician.
