The Ghost and The House of Truth has won the Grand Prize for Best Narrative Feature (World Cinema) at The Urban World Film Festival in New York.

The feature movie which stars: Tope Tedela, Kate Henshaw, Seun Ajayi, Ijeoma Grace Agu, Mairo Obruthe, Susan Wokoma, Imoleayo Olusanya and Gloria Young, is a narrative of Bola Ogun, a dedicated counselor who reconciles convicts with their victims, When her 8-year-old daughter eventually goes missing and police investigation makes no headway, she is forced to question her belief in forgiveness.

Kenneth Oguzie Awarded 2019 ANNS Most Distinguished Nigerian

The Association of Nigerians in Nova Scotia, Canada, has awarded Kenneth Oguzie as the 2019 most distinguished Nigerian for his outstanding contributions to the economic growth and development of the nation.

Kenneth Oguzie, the Nigerian born Canadian resident, got the award during the association’s annual ‘Nigerian Week’ to commemorate Nigeria’s independence celebration.

Nigeria Scrabble National Team Win 2019 World English Scrabble Players Association Championship (WESPAC) Title

The Nigeria Scrabble national team has won the 2019 World English Scrabble Players Association Championship (WESPAC) title in Goa, India.

The World English Scrabble Players Association Championship (WESPAC) featured 30 countries and 145 players. Nigeria, represented by 11 players and officials retained the WESPAC Country Trophy after achieving the feat in 2015.

The four-day event also saw two Nigerians in fifth and 10th positions in the over all individual ranking at the championship, just as the other Nigerian players were ranked among the top 30 spot.

Abiodun Jamiu Wins 2019 El-Critical Writing Contest

Abiodun Jamiu, a campus-life reporter at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has won the 2019 El-Critical Writing contest as well as UDUS Pen Press Campus Journalist of the Year prize.

Abiodun Jamiu was presented his award at the 2019 Pen Press UDUS Day held at the institution.

The event was courtesy of a collaboration between Pen Press UDUS, one of the home-grown media outfits for students of UDUS and Ibrahim Jatto, an ex-CAMPUSLIFE reporter and award winning journalist.

The contest with the theme: “The making of a 21st century university” aimed at improving literacy in the north, especially among students. It is a yearly contest for students in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.

Deborah Olatunji Wins 2019 National Travel Essay Competition

Deborah Olatunji, a student of Holy Saviour College, Isolo, has won the 10th edition of the National Travel Essay Competition (NTEC 2019).

In line with its policy to support youth empowerment, education and excellence among Nigerian youngsters, EgyptAir has rewarded the commitment and hard work of Miss Deborah Olatunji, with a free ticket to Dubai for winning. The airline also presented a second free ticket to the parent or guardian of the winner in order to allow her travel to Dubai together with any family member of her choice.

The District Manager of EgyptAir in Nigeria, Mr. Muharram Abdelrahman, presented the tickets to Miss Olatunji in the company of her aunt, Dr. Ayodeji Adewakun, in his office.
