24-year-old Oluwatobiloba Amusan has set a new African record in the 100 meters Hurdles event with a finishing time of 12.42 seconds in the Diamond League final meet held in Zurich on September 9, 2021.
Amusan’s winning time erases Glory Alozie’s previous feat of 12.44 seconds set in 1999 and also saw her become the first Nigerian to win a Diamond League trophy.
Oluwatobiloba Amusan is expected to receive $30,000 in prize money as well as getting a wild card for next year’s World Athletics Championships in Oregon, U.S.A.
