Enku Ekuta Wins Gold At Fourth African Judo Open

Enku Ekuta has won gold medal in the 63kg women category at the fourth African Judo Open final held on 14 November 2020.

Enku Ekuta qualified for the final after defeating Carolina Delgado of Cape Verde and Anastasiya-Alexander Nenova of South Africa in the preliminary pool and then defeated the 2019 African games champion, Helene Dombeu of Cameroon to win gold.

The victory is Ekuta’s first continental open gold medal and the second time she will defeat the 33-year-old Dombeu at a continental open.

Stripe Acquires Paystack

Payment processing giant Stripe has acquired Nigerian startup Paystack in a $200 million plus deal, making it the biggest startup acquisition in Nigeria as well Stripes biggest acquisition to date.

Stripe seeks to expand into the African Market in its bigger strategy announced earlier this year to expand its API- based payment processing services to more regions.

Team Nigeria Wins 2020 Huawei Global ICT Competition

Team Nigeria have won the grand first place position in the Cloud and Network examination at the 2020 Huawei Global ICT Competition.

Team Nigeria, comprising of some Nigerian students from the University of Ibadan (UI), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), won out of over 150,000 other students from 82 countries and regions who participated in the competition.
