Nigeria emerged as overall winners of the three day 2023 Aquatics Africa Zone 2 Junior Swimming and Open Water Championship (third edition) held at the University of Ghana, Sports Directorate with 15 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.
Ghana placed second with 7 gold, 11 silver and 4 bronze medals, while Benin were third third with 7 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.

U-Recycle Initiative Africa advances environmental education, a circular economy, youth development, and climate action. Its PlasticWize Fellowship initiative is designed to build the largest campus movement geared towards tackling plastic pollution in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. This initiative is designed to empower university students across Nigeria with the knowledge, tools, and resources to take a stand against marine plastic pollution through proactive, comprehensive, and creative interventions.

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria in Kaduna State, has won an award as the best aviation training institution in the world with the highest number of trained instructors bestowed on the College on 31st May, 2023 at the 2023 ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) held in Seoul, South Korea.

Esemitodje Oghenerukevwe Patrick and Uwakfon Nyon Jacob have won Gold at the 2023 Pan African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO) and International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).
The two students had represented Nigeria at this year’s competition, where they emerged overall best.
The competition had 54 African country participating, only eight countries won Gold, which included Nigeria.
