Oluwatobi Ojo Wins 2019 NNPC National Science Quiz Competition

Oluwatobi Ojo has won the 2019 Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Science Quiz Competition for secondary schools across Nigeria.

Oluwatobi Ojo emerged as the winner at the grand finale of the competition held at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on November 21, 2019.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, a pupil of APT Scholars Universal College, Ota, Oluwatobi Ojo, won the first prize for Ogun state with 80 points, while Mbazu Justice from CSMT Staff Secondary School, Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, took the second position with 70+points.

Nwachukwu Ugochukwu of Dority International School Aba, Abia State, took the third position with 70 points.

Winners Emerge At 2019 AppsAfrica Innovation Awards

Winners have emerged at the 2019 AppsAfrica innovation awards held in Cape Town, South Africa.

The AppsAfrica innovation awards attracts attention from innovators across the continent each year, with organizers getting over 400 applications from 52 countries.

This year’s awards mark the 5th by AppsAfrica honoring mobile and tech innovators in Africa. Of the 70 selected finalist, 14 products emerged winners this year from four African countries; Nigeria, Angola, Kenya and South Africa.

Abibat Owolabi Emerges Best Graduating Master’s Student At University Of Ibadan [2019]

25-year-old Abibat Owolabi has emerged as the overall best graduating Master’s Degree student at the University of Ibadan. She obtained the degree from the Department of Botany, Faculty of Sciences.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Abel Olayinka, announced this during the convocation ceremonies of the university that Miss Owolabi graduated with CGPA 7.0.

Mayowa Mubashir Abiru Emerges Overall Best Graduating Student For The 2019 Set In The Nigerian Law School

Mayowa Mubashir Abiru, a graduate of Babcock University has emerged the overall best graduating student in the August 2019 Bar Final Exams in the Nigerian Law School.

Mr. Mayowa Mubashir Abiru, a Group 9 student of Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus in the 2018/2019 academic session, has the Best Overall Result in the August 2019 Bar Final Examinations of the Nigerian Law School. The student automatically is the winner of the Star prize for the Overall-Best Graduating for the Year 2019.

Formal call to the Bar (Induction) ceremonies for successful candidates in the August 2019 Bar Final Examinations are scheduled to hold in late November 2019.

Team Nigeria Emerge Winner At 2019 Atoms For Africa Youth Video Competition

Youths from Nigeria, Tanzania and Kenya have been awarded first prize in the 2019 Atoms for Africa Youth Video Competition.

According to the statement from ROSATOM Central and Southern Africa, the winners received the highest number of votes from the jury and the general public via Facebook platform.

The competition was themed: “5th Atoms Empowering Africa”.

The first team of winners from Nigeria include: Egbe Joy, Derick Nwasor and Oghale Yome. The second winners from Tanzania comprised: Edgar John, Ritha Deusdedit and Theresia Mbuli and the third winners from Kenya are Wafula, Lukorito,Job Ogenche and Felix Kipng’etich.

Chinasa Ukandu from Nigeria and Luis Alejandro Castañeda from Colombia have emerged the winners of the 2019 Future Stars coaching programme.

The Future Stars programme was developed by WorldRemit and Arsenal to celebrate the positive impact that grassroots youth football coaches have on their communities, helping the children they train to develop life skills both on and off the pitch.

Temie Giwa-Tobsun Wins 2019 African Netprenuer Prize

Temie Giwa-Tubosun has emerged the overall winner of the 2019 African Netprenuer prize Initiative during the ‘Africa’s Business Heroes Show’.

Omar Sakr from Egypt emerged the second winner, while Christelle Kwizera from Rwanda emerged third winner.

The winners were announced on 16 November 2019 during the Netpreneur 2019 Conference, which held at the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra, Ghana.

The African Netprenuer prize initiative, founded by Jack Ma and sponsored by Alibaba Foundation for Africa, brought together ten of the best young entrepreneurs for a chance to win a share of  USD $1 million.

These were entrepreneurs chosen from over 50 African countries over a 7 month period, who demonstrated great passion and initiative to change their communities for the better.
