Alaba Anna Tam Danagogo Emerges Overall Best Graduating Student At Syracuse University [2021]

Alaba Anna Tam Danagogo has emerged as the 2021 overall best graduating student at the Syracuse University in New York, the United States of America.

The 20-year-old graduated with distinctions in Biology Major and Minor in English and Textual Studies and was also awarded the prestigious 1870 scholarship by the university for another four-year Medical Studies.

Alaba Anna Tam Danagogo was the Students’ Speaker (valedictorian) for 2021 and was designated as a Senior Class Marshall of the university, recognised as a Distinguished Syracuse University Scholar, having graduated summa cum laude with a 3.97 CGPA in a four-point system.

Among her academic accomplishments are dean’s list honors, distinction in biology and the 1870 Scholarship, the highest recognition offered by the Office of Admissions.

Queen College Lagos Win 2020/2021 LEGO League Challenge [National]

Queen College Lagos has emerged overall winner of the national 2020/2021 LEGO League Challenge by creating an App called Access, which gets people active by connecting people interested in the same sports.

Queen College Lagos, a new entrant to the program and all-girls school won the competition, which had participation of about 1,320 students from the 132 teams including student from all 104 Unity School in Nigeria, in total who were among the over 500,000 children around the world who participated in the 2020/2021 LEGO League Challenge.

Federal Science and Technology College, Orozo, came second, while Team AIROL, an all-girls team from University of Lagos AI Lab, came third.

The three teams will represent Nigeria at the International Open Championship in Greece.

Adekuoroye Odunayo Folasade has won Gold medal in the 57 kg Women event at the United World Wrestling (UWW) Ziolkowski, Pytlasinski, Poland Open Ranking Series 2021.

The two times Commonwealth gold medalist’s strength was too much for Iryna Kurachkina in the final, which took place on the 11th of June 2021, as the Belarusian withdrew from the bout due to injury.

Onuachu Paul Wins 2021 Ebony Shoe Award [Best African Player In Belgium Top-Flight]

Onuachu Paul of KRC Genk has emerged winner of the 2021 Ebony Shoe Award recognizing him as the best African player in the Belgium football top-flight.

The striker saw off competition from Club Brugge’s Clinton Mata (Angola) and Genk’s Theo Bongonda (DR Congo) to the prize to succeed Dieumerci Mbokani – who represents Royal Antwerp.

The Ebony Shoe prize is an annual award given to the best African player in the Belgian Pro League.
