Korede Bolaji Amole has emerged the overall winner of the 2018 Consolidated Hallmark Insurance (CHI) Plc national essay competition.

Korede Bolaji Amole from the Insurance Department of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, receives a prize of 250,000, and an opportunity of getting employed by the insurer after graduation.

The reward is part of the company’s efforts to encourage insurance education and awareness creation across the country.

Kano Pillars FC Win 2019 Men Aiteo Cup Title

Kano Pillars FC have emerged champions of the 2019 Federation Cup, also known as Aiteo Cup on the 28th of July 2019.

Sai Masu Gida, as they are fondly called, beat Niger Tornadoes 4-3 on penalties after both teams had played a barren draw in regulation period.

With the win, Kano Pillars FC receive 25 million as prize money for winning the title while Niger Tornadoes receive 10 million.

Winners have emerged in the 2019 Nigerian Athletics Championships held in Kaduna.

The duo of Usheoritse Itsekiri and Joy Udo-Gabriel emerged tops in the men and women 100 meters races respectively in the championship doubling as the National Trials for the African Games billed for Morocco in August.

Hauwa Liman And Saifura Hussaina Awarded Florence Nightingale Medals [2019]

Hauwa Liman And Saifura Hussaina, two nurses abducted and killed in 2018 by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno have been awarded the Florence Nightingale medals, the highest international award in the nursing profession.

Hauwa Liman and Saifura Hussaina were abducted in Rann in March 2018, where they were working as midwives for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The parents of Hauwa Liman and Saifura Hussaina received the medals their late daughters were awarded posthumously at a ceremony led by president of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Bolaji Anani and Eloi Fillion, head of delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Ajia Motunrayo Emerges All-Time Best Graduating Student At Covenant University [2018/2019]

Ajia Motunrayo, a student in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, College of Engineering of Covenant University, has emerged the best student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 at the 2018/2019 convocation.

This is the first time that a student attains such a feat in the institution and therefore makes Ajia Motunrayo the all-time best graduating student. The closest to her feat being the 2016 convocation where Master Winner Deji-Folutile from Department of Architecture had 4.97.

A total of 215 students of the Covenant University, Ota in Ogun State were conferred with First Class degrees at its 2018/2019 convocation held on the 19th of July 2019.
