Police Sergeant Nasiru Bawa and Police Inspector Saratu Haruna have been honoured with the United Nations Posthumous Peacekeeping Award.

The United Nations on May 25, 2023 honoured two Nigerians and 101 other military, police and civilian peacekeepers, who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2022.

Molarogbe Luman Olamilekan of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has emerged the overall winner of this year’s 2023 National Quiz Competition organised by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

He came first at the closing ceremony of the 25th annual conference of the CITN, with the theme, ‘Nigeria of the Future: Achieving Sustainable Development through Taxation’.

Philip Solomon Wins Guinness World Record For Most Skips On One Foot In 30 Seconds

Guinness World Record has confirmed Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old student of Oyemekun Grammar School Akure, Ondo State, as the record holder for most skips on one foot in 30 seconds.

On January 24, 2023 Solomon officially recorded 153 skips on one foot in 30 seconds to erase the former record holder, Rasel Islam of Bangladesh whose record was 145 skips in 30 seconds.

Suara Abass has been honoured with the 2023 President’s Award for Distinguished Service by Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

The award was presented to Abass by President Rodney K. Rogers, Ph.D., during the 27th Annual Gregory T. DeCrane Applauding Excellence Ceremony, which took place on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, at the Lenhart Grand Ballroom.

The President’s Award for Distinguished Service is the highest form of recognition granted to individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication, well-roundedness, and significant contributions to both the University and the Bowling Green community.

Success Umukoro Wins 60 Meters Race Event At 2023 NJCAA Indoor Championships

Success Umukoro has emerged winner of the 60 meters race event at the 2023 NJCAA Indoor Championships running a new Personal Best (PB) of 7.36 seconds.

She was unbeaten throughout the championship, successfully defending her 60 meters title in an impressive time of 7.36 seconds. She did this after running a brilliant PB of 7.35 seconds in her qualifying heat to make the final.

Umukoro, a student of South Plains College, was awarded Track Athlete of the Year of the Central and West Region for outstanding performances this season.
