- December, 2021: Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nigeria and Burkina Faso. The legal instrument contained 18 articles among which are security, trade, sports, the definition of human trafficking with all the elements, prosecution of offenders, communication, identifications, protection and care of victims of human trafficking, return, repatriation of proceeds of the crime as well as rehabilitation and reintegration of victims.
