16-year-old identical twins Kehinde and Deborah Sowole achieved top grades, including a raft of eights in their exam, which is the equivalent of WAEC in Nigeria.

Alao-Akala Tabitha, Nimatallahi Abdulkadri and Lawal Balikis have won the third place in the International Projects category at the 34th Edition of China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest (CASTIC) in Macao, China.
Alao-Akala Tabitha, Nimatallahi Abdulkadri and Lawal Balikis, students of Doregos Private Academy, Ipaja, Lagos, represented Nigeria with their innovative submissions.
The contest (CASTIC), which had 52 countries participating and over 150 students in attendance, lasted for seven days.
The late Dr. Elizabeth Ehi-Ebewele and 11 others have been honoured with the Clark R. Bavin Wildlife Law Enforcement Award by the Animal Welfare Institute in Geneva.
The awardees were presented with the award on 20th August 2019 for demonstrating excellence in combating wildlife crime.
Dr. Elizabeth Ehi-Ebewele created Nigeria’s first national audience on wildlife crime. According to the organisers, she played a key role in the decision by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to develop a coordinated response on wildlife crime.

The Nigeria Senior Women’s National Basketball team, D’Tigress, have been crowned African champions following their 60-55 win over Senegal in the final of the 2019 FIBA Women Afrobasket Championship.
The win recorded on the 18th of August 2019 at the Dakar Arena, signifies D’Tigress successfully defending the FIBA Women AfroBasket title they won two years ago as well as their fourth title overall.
